[TriLUG] Not Linux: Anyone else feeling the pain?

Normally I wouldn't reply to this sort of thread, but I guess I'm so
full of holiday cheer that I've taken a break from my typical workday to
ponder OT posts.

Over the past several years, I've been able to hire a number of
technical folks, many of whom are either TriLUGers or have been
recommended by TriLUGers. Membership in this group has been my primary
source of finding new talent. Off the top of my head, the list to date
includes Aaron Joyner, Mark Fowle, Israel Pattison, Richie Woodbury,
Sean Myers, Jon Woodbury, Mike Hrivnak, Randy Barlow, Andrew Ball, and
Chris Church. I've also hired some TriLUGers for part time project work
and done work for others. Sorry if I missed anyone.

Clearly employees move on from time to time. Sometimes thats just as
good for the employer as it is the employee. Sometimes its not. You
obviously want to do things as an employer to attract and retain the
really good ones. So far, the hires that have come from TriLUG
affiliation are overwhelmingly in the latter category, so I'll keep
tapping the list whenever I have an opening.

In short, if any of you think that employers don't read this list, think
again.
