I am a developer, though that isn't my primary responsibility. Please
do explain from where you got the 'idea that coding is foreign' to
anyone who responded to this thread. You're jumping to the wrong
conclusion, I think.
I didn't say anything about your idea being contrary to any 'strong
tradition' of anything. I just said I wouldn't be interested. You did
read the 'No offense, but..." at the beginning of my email, right? I
just don't think that's something I'd be interested in spending my
Saturday on, so I spoke up. I assume the organizers of this event would
like to know what people would like to see from it. That's all. No
knee-jerk, guttural reaction against the idea of programming. Just not
interested in your suggestion.
