Excellent example of what I said about managing expectations.  Everyone has a different "pain point".  Address that, and they will usually ignore most everything else.

My mom wanted me to make her laptop "more secure"...
she was concerned about viruses and spyware.  So I
installed Ubuntu on her machine.  At first, she was not
very happy.  But I noticed that her main complaint was
with the ugly "dirty smear on the wall" wallpaper.  So
I downloaded some random picture of a tropical beach
to use as a wallpaper, and now she's happy.  It's funny
how some simple little details like that can influence
a new user.
