I'm heading up 52 out of Winston-Salem in a couple of weeks to hit the Blue Ridge, head up to Luray, VA and then to Woodberry Forest for my 30th high school reunion in 2 weeks. Yee haw.

Along these same lines - Often I will take a mental health day and
ride.  In case you are unaware, you can go to Hillsborough, take 86
due north.  Just over the border into Virginia is route 58, take it
west and in exactly 2 hours from Hillsborough you are on the Blue
Ridge Parkway.  If you leave at 8:00 A, you can spend a day of riding
and still be back for dinner.  It is a great trip.
