I bought and enjoyed "Core Python Programming" by Wesley Chun when we
started switching from mostly Perl to Python at $WORK. I have the 2nd
edition which covers through Python 2.5. I was looking for exactly the same
thing as you, a book with wich to learn Python targeted at experienced
programmers in other languages, and I'm very happy.
