[TriLUG] TW and Embarq work to keep Wilson style internet from spreading

In the case of Wilson's Greenlight, there are no tax dollars being used.
There is one narrow case where taxpayer money may come into it, that's if
the city run entity doesnt't make enough to pay the bond. The good thing
about this approach is that it sets up a company that leverages the fact
that the town government has some control, can guarantee a bond, but has the
consumers pay off the bond with their rates.

So far it's been a win for everyone except TWC, they have a vested interest
in making sure that this kind of thing doesn't catch on. I have several
co-workers who live in Wilson and have Greenlight service, for $99 a month,
they get 10MB both ways, 80something channels and VOIP. I'd sign up for
that if I could get it here in Raleigh.
