[TriLUG] How does mdadm decide device names on bootup?

I ran into a botched ubuntu upgrade on a server with a collection of
non-system disks in raid1. After a fresh install of 9.04 I'm in the
midst of putting the raid back together loosely following the 'super
simple md' recipe from here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Raid, omitting
the disk-formatting bit.
Before, when I created the array, it was named /dev/md0. Now it's /dev/md_d0.
Is that anything to be worried about?
I'm tempted to just leave well enough alone and deal with the new
naming scheme since everything _seems_ to be mounting fine. Is that
naming scheme normal? I haven't seen where to modify things
(/etc/mdadm/mdadm.conf mentions md0, but that isn't used perhaps?),
but I'm just not sure I should bother.
Opinions?
Thanks much
Mark
