I don't know enough about either PHP or Wordpress to have an idea of
the scope of this, but language DOES come into play in a security discussion.
It is a LOT easier to secure a web application written in Java (for example)
than in C.  Not to say that you can't make them equally secure, but there is
a big difference in the amount of work and diligence required to get there.
