I have just built a new machine to replace my primary desktop development machine, and it seems that Gnome is configured differently than I am used to.  I have looked various places, but don't seem to find where I can beat it over the head.

I am finding that Firefox is leaping all over the workspaces whenever a link is clicked somewhere else.  What I was used to in the past was that if I clicked on a link in Thunderbird or anywhere else, it would open a new tab ( that's the way that I have Firefox configured ) in Firefox, but FF would stay in the workspace where it was put.

The "window" settings say "Only on This Workspace", but that seems to be a flexible concept in this version of Gnome.
