[TriLUG] ubuntu 8.04, sound juicer, and mp3s

all,

i'm using sound juicer in my 8.04 ubuntu installation to try and rip
CDs to mp3 format. the w32codecs are loaded and the mp3 option is
available in the profiles and has the 'Active?' box checked. but the
mp3 format does not show up in the list of formats. google and ubuntu
help has not gotten me any mp3 output. suggestions? ideas?
