Ralph,

I'm pretty sure there is. I did a C++/Corba port to Java/Jacorb a few years
back and I think there's a FOSS C++ lib with all that stuff... not sure what
it is called though. The term is usually "http client" or something like
that. Maybe this page will give you good search fodder:
