Just to keep the list apprised of progress, the friend for whom I am
going on this adventure is a Mac fan, and he has been interested in
using OS X Server for some time, so he took the plunge and bought it
and installed it on a Mac Mini he had. He already has an Airport
Extreme, so we'll be experimenting with that pairing in the next few
days. It has a pointy-clicky interface for both LDAP and RADIUS, so
we'll see.... more to come in a couple of weeks.

BTW my hope is that if we get this working I can fire up Terminal.app
and poke around the configs... possibly replicating the setup with
Linux at home.
