Btw, you can query/set the amount of reserved space on the device using tune2fs.  The command "tune2fs -l <dev>" will give you a complete list of tunable parameters including the amount of reserved space (normally defaults to 5%), and the uid/gid of the reserved blocks user (usually root/root).
