I sent my Lenovo Thinkpad X200s in because the screen hinges were really
loose and the LCD would just fall backward. I took out the hard drive
before I sent it in. Apparently the warranty service provider felt that
they should check to see if the BIOS needed an update. So, they took
out the screw, removed the hard drive bay cover, put in a drive, and
discovered that the BIOS was up-to-date. Then the jackasses forget to
return the bay cover and screw to me. When I got the laptop back after
2 weeks, the screen was not fixed (they hadn't done anything with it)
and it took me 8 phone calls and another 2 weeks to get a new bay
cover. It took another 2 weeks after that to get a screw. This was
under the warranty contract with NC State.
Warranty service: pray you never need it.
