Freedscale has a Linux tablet targeted at $200.

Others are releasing these too. Its sorta funny since the Windows
tablets have been out for several years. I guess Jobs claim to fame is
repackaging an existing product in a nicer package. Well, maybe one of
these Linux tablets can even beat him. For sure, Linux is way more
standard than Apple.

Truly commodity hardware! It wasn't 15 years ago when the hardware
vendors were shooting to break the $1000 price barrier. Now the price
is falling right into impulse buying areas!
