Have you looked into a Rock cluster on CentOS?
http://www.rocksclusters.org/wordpress/ I've read about it but not
tried it as yet. I've only done compute clusters in the past.
Here's an interesting little thread on Rock vs Conga vs HPC:

One author states a simple common NFS mount across all systems, plus
home dirs using LDAP authentication. Don't know if that'll work for you
or not.
We're using Cisco CSS's for load balancing and connecting into a 6500s
for the actual traffic management and shared datastorage for the
backend, similar to the way the article above.
On a more humorous note, here's a guy who used an IKEA Helmer file
cabinet to make a rendering cluster.

Once up and operational, this cluster is expected to be 100% hands-off (as in - deployed in the field at remote locations) so reliability is critical. This node will consist of two independent systems connected via back-to-back GigE network interfaces for redundancy.

I was also looking over at RedHat's site recently and read some information on their "Red Hat Cluster Suite" product and was trying to find out exactly how much $$$ it costs to deploy.
