Your question is timely.

I just renewed the SSL certificates for mail.trilug.org, and to get into
the StartCom/StartSSL web site, I had to use a client certificate.  At
the time, I was wondering how they set that up.  StartCom is the only
web site that I have dealt with that uses client certificates.  It seems
pretty cool.

If you figure it out, please post a follow-up to the list so others can
tinker with this technology.
