I noticed that I had to go into the NetworkManager applet and
"edit connections", select the current connection and specifically
enable IPv6 for it.  I was wondering if there were some global
setting for "always get an IPv6, if available, you dolt", but
did not dig into it much.

This will be one of my questions one week from today at the
IPv6 workshop.
