If the system is for his mother (I think it is), 8Gb my not be
necessary. In my experience, until I tossed virtualization into the
mix, I never had an issue with 4Gb. But if she has a more heavy duty
requirement, I wholeheartedly agree with buy Crucial RAM, but purchase
it from Amazon. Various vendors often have lower pricing than buying
direct from Crucial. I saved ~$20 when I picked up 8Gb B&H Photo,
Crucial branded.
