All of my Webcams provide the standard USB "UCV" video camera class,
making them plug-and-play.
  Thinkpad X220 built in webcam
  Asus LCD Monitor with build in webcam
  Syba 1.3Mp webcam (cheap and nasty)

Software that I actually use regularly:
  Google+/Google Talk
  Skype
