[TriLUG] Utility to help with SOX

Gentle Beings:

           Where I work, if I were to add a new line to a configuration file, several people have to do maybe an hour of work to comply with our great SOX law.  (God bless the Senate)  

           But, if I just run a utility that does some checking/logging, then there is much less meta-work to do.   I am capable of inventing this wheel, but might there be a framework out there?
