[TriLUG] Slow hard drive Centos 5.6

I wonder if you have a newer controller and two drivers are set to be able
to control it. I would look at dmesg/lspci to see which driver is listed for
the controller with and without that kernel parameter and see if it's a
simple matter of blacklisting the older module.
