I had flakey internet between Holly Springs and Apex off old highway 55 --
around your area.

Check the signal strength reported by the modem.  I had to have TWC come out
and replace a couple cables/couplings.  If you have a motorola surfboard
modem its IP should be 192.168.100.1.  Click signal on the left.  Power
level should be between -15 and +15 dBmV and signal to noise should not
exceed 55 dB.  Granted, that was the standard a couple years ago.
