I have been considering getting some wireless cameras for my farm. I've seen a few this week on woot.com (they are having a woot-off) but since I don't know much about them, I haven't purchased any.
I have a couple of requirements these devices don't seem to meet. First, it has to be Linux-friendly (most come with Windows-only software, and while wine is always an option I'd prefer something else). Second, I want to be able to understand if not control the wireless security. I have these "Oceans 11" nightmare that I could spend a lot of effort setting up a surveillance network that someone else could hack - it needs to be secure.
Suggestions? I seem to remember someone on this list a few years ago working on such a project out at the coast.
