I had lots of headaches with GoDaddy hosting on the technical front, if
you really want to know what they were send me a direct e-mail and I'll
go back through my e-mail to find concrete examples.
DreamHost has free unlimited disk space/unlimited bandwidth hosting for
registered non-profits. I moved from GoDaddy to DreamHost about a year
ago and couldn't be happier.

Do many web hosting companies provide discounted rates for non-profits? If you don't want to clutter the list with OT traffic, please email me directly.
