Joe,
I was a member of the Apex Toastmasters Club for a while. It was
very helpful and I'd recommend Toastmasters to anyone who wants to
sharpen their public (or even non-public) speaking skills. They meet
at the Spring Arbor Assisted Living Center on Tuesday nights 7-8pm at
Hwy 55 and Olive Chapel Rd.

Anyone who was interested just needed to come and show up at a
meeting. You get to see how the meeting is run (Table Topics, etc...)
and then usually if you keep attending regularly, you are asked to
join.
If you have many close by you, just go and attend each one.
You'll get a feel of who is in charge and how friendly the members
are. Other than that I'd say it's a matter of distance and the
convenience of the meeting time for you.
