[TriLUG] general RAID questions

Hi,

I run this:

 echo check >> /sys/block/md0/md/sync_action

Weekly - forces a 'fake' rebuild of the array. This means that every
block of the drives are read, which will pick up (hopefully) bad
drives early and mitigate the possibility of a dual drive failure on
rebuild. Hardware RAID controllers typically have a similar function
('patrol read' or somesuch).

David.
