In my first posting I said that I could overwrite which 
mounting from my 2.6.39 laptop with

mount -t smbfs ....

I just retested from the same laptop with

mount -t cifs ...

and I still can overwrite

The server is security=share

The only client that can't do an overwrite is the OpenWrt 
2.6.32 wrt54g machine

I wonder if it's a bug?
