I'm saying using BSG as an appeal might be misguided, seeing as most
of the first 2 seasons included resistance to any form of networking.

I'm saying comparing (NCP-to-TCP) to (ipv4-to-ipv6) is several orders
of magnitude off in terms of complexity of adoption, devices to touch,
skill level of implementors, and business-criticalness of conversion.

I'm a doubter on the "needed" part, since the sky has been falling for
too long to take it seriously.  I'm more firmly in the "won't reach
Network Effect/critical mass anytime soon (~10+ years)" camp.  There's
just no business case for early conversion.  I tried converting my
home-lab to v6 last year, and some was trivial (sshd, apache, slapd,
bind), but plenty enough other apps weren't anywhere near ready.
Although, I will say that one of my big showstoppers (MySQL not
supporting v6) finally got checked in 2 weeks ago, so, after that
rolls down to sid I might give it another shot.

It's youtube.  A google subsidiary.  You know, those guys that rolled
out gmail and kept a beta tag on it for roughly 83 years?
I'm a little surprised that we're just sitting around til 6/6 so a
press release can line up all cutesy-wootsie with the calendar.  Slap
a beta tag up and go, before the Imminent Death of the Internet
happens.
