[TriLUG] Why I want to run for Steering Committee...

So Justis said if I wanted to be elected to the steering committee, it
would be in my interest to post a comment to the mailing list saying how
awesome I am and why the life of TriLUG should be put in my hands.

First off: I'm a Ph.D. student at NC State as well as a regular member
of the NCSU Linux User's Group. My research area is in computer security
and the like, and I'm also an Amateur Radio license-holder (KK4DDO).
It's also probably relevant to mention that I've exclusively used Ubuntu
for the past four years.

So far, I've been a member of Trilug for about a year - my first meeting
was the first meeting after 2011 elections. In that time, I've really
found a home in the TriLUG community. It's a great group of people in
both the professional and the social aspects, and I'd like to give back
to that - and get some leadership experience along the way.

What would I like to see in the future of TriLUG? A lot more of what
I've been seeing so far. There's so much engagement in our membership,
and I think it would be cool to see us get involved in activities around
the local area under the TriLUG banner, such as with events like the
recently held MATHCOUNTS competition in Durham. It's just an idea I
have, but I think it would be cool. If you agree with that, maybe that's
a sign I should be helping facilitate it.

For a glimpse of my qualifications, my CV is hosted on my blog at
<http://isharacomix.org/cv>. You can check out my blog to see the things
I'm interested in, as well as all the amazing things I cook.

tl;dr - Vote for me. I'll bake some cookies for everyone.

PS: Thanks to everyone who responded to my request for RAM! I got some
and my computer is very happy now. :)
