Good morning fellow TriLUG'rs
Our Central Field Labs (CFL) team at NetApp, RTP has an opening for a Central Field Labs Engineer. We are looking for a team player who has a diverse background in troubleshooting, networking, Linux/*nix, Windows, and storage protocols (NFS, CIFS, FC). We need an enthusiastic individual who enjoys a challenge, as the environment changes rapidly. This person will have access to leading-edge hardware and software including Cisco UCS, VMWare, NetApp FAS and Engenio systems, FC/FCoE/10Gbe, Hadoop, Lustre, etc. In-depth storage experience not necessary but definitely good to have.
Daily responsibilities include:
--------------------------------
- Building custom environments for pre- and post-sales activities (e.g., Windows/Linux servers, Ethernet and FC switching, and NetApp storage)
- Designing and/or maintaining portions of the lab infrastructure (e.g., equipment inventory, physical cabling, rack layouts, network security, data storage, backup and disaster recovery, OS image templates, etc.)
- Determining architecture design with end users, primarily for post-sales activities
- Assisting with planning and running performance tests, and analyzing results
Some background:
----------------
The Central Field Labs (CFL) team provides a number of services to pre and post-sales technical team members. At the CPOC labs, we simulate portions of customer environments to demonstrate product functionality or to determine performance characteristics. The environments vary widely: from Linux render farms to ISP-style mail environments to large data warehouses. We are a worldwide sales enablement function, and our mission is to drive revenue by performing Proof of Concepts that are needed for near-term or strategic sales opportunities. At the PS Labs, we assist the post sales organization by helping them with self-training, solution evaluation, and delivery preparation.
If you enjoy a challenge and are looking to kick up your hands-on experience to the next level, please consider this opportunity. NetApp offers excellent benefits, and was even voted #1 Best Place to Work in RTP for 2011!
Off-list only please. Feel free to send your resume to me or point your browser to: https://careers.netapp.com and search for REQ# 19798BR
Thanks,
