I have a very similar (but not identical) keyboard/touchpad (
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005C6CVAE/ ) that seems to play
nicely with an older Dell laptop running Ubuntu (10.04) connected to
my living room TV.  I've only had it for a few weeks, but no problems
so far.  Everything works out of the box including the media keys
across the top row.  The only caveat is that the construction quality
is not great.  I threw it in my computer bag one day and had to
superglue the face plate back on to one of the media keys that night.
