[TriLUG] Wi-Fi Router Recommendation

I replied on G+, but I'll paste here for the Group's benefit:

The dual band Linksys routers are very nice, and feature-full, but it seems
like they are the highest priced options. When you're king, I guess.

Don't buy a Belkin if you need static IPs, it won't do it, and DD-WRT isn't
available for that hardware at the moment. The 600DB I bought has been
returned.

I bought a Buffalo WZR-600DHP, which ships with a customized DD-WRT
firmware. It has gigabit wired ports, and can have a guest network, but it
doesn't have it built in as a nice wizard feature, like in the Linksys
routers. You have to build it up using virtual networks. It has 2 radios,
so 2.4GHz and 5GHz traffic happens on separate radios and SSIDs, but 2.4GHz
n traffic is handled by the same radio as 2.4GHz b/g traffic, and similarly
for 5GHz a and n traffic. Everything I have seems to connect just fine,
except my laptop (T500 Fedora 17) which won't connect to 2.4GHz if 802.11n
is enabled (even as a G or B network). It'll connect to the 5GHz band fine
though.
