I'm excited to see so many hams around, even some of you I've met but
had no idea were licensed.

There was a gentleman who just moved up to the area from Charlotte who
overheard a couple of us talking about ham stuff after the meeting on
Thursday and introduced himself. Sadly I've forgotten his contact info
in my hasty departure.

In light of all this, I'll take the opportunity to remind everyone of
the ham radio resources available here in TriLUG.

First is the mailing list:
http://www.trilug.org/mailman/listinfo/linux-ham . It hasn't seen much
traffic of late, but I encourage you to improve upon that. :) The second
is the IRC channel, #trilug-ham on Freenode IRC. Some members also have
pages with resources they might like to share. *pokes KI4BKE*

This is an exciting time to be involved in the Open Source and ham radio
communities. With developments like FreeDV (http://www.freedv.org/) and
the impending release of products like the UDR56K-4
(http://nwdigitalradio.com/), the potential for innovative new ideas is
limitless.

I'm looking forward to hearing y'all on the air soon!
