Accentuate Staffing has partnered with a growing client in the medical device space in need of a Sr. Linux Engineer/Administrator to join their team on a consulting basis. This position is a 6 month contract role with a likelihood of extensions. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, recommending, developing, implementing and supporting stable, cost-effective technology solutions. Responsibilities include estimating total cost, managing deliverables of cross-functional team-members, delivering stable IT solutions, troubleshooting application infrastructure issues, ensuring customer satisfaction. A typical day will potentially include some or all of the following:
* Design information technology solutions for business projects and/or initiatives
* Participate in information technology system implementations from system requirements gathering through implementation and system support transition
* Interface with business representatives, vendors, and other stakeholders for gathering system requirements
* Document newly architected or existing systems according to quality, compliance, and regulatory requirements
* Identify and address technical or operational risks
* Identify and address operational inefficiencies with IT systems
* Develop and maintain documentation for operational best practices and systems maintenance
* Collaborate with project managers in development of detailed project plans
* Develop and execute support transition plan for system implementations
* Provide assistance for issues escalated from downstream support teams
Skills needed for this position include:
1) Strong, proven experience in:
* IBM AIX or UNIX equivalent
* Red Hat Linux
* IBM PowerVM
* VMware ESX
2) Technical areas of expertise should include and not be limited to the following:
* Oracle Database
* Lightweight Directory Access Protocol
* Virtual directories and federation
* Storage Area Networks
* LAN/WAN network technologies
* Server virtualization (IBM PowerVM preferred, VMware)
* Scripting and system automation (Powershell, Bash, etc.)
* Tivoli Storage Manager
* Apache, IIS, Tomcat, .Net, and related web technologies
* Enterprise system monitoring
3) Certified in Red Hat, VMWare, Security or IBM Certified Systems Expert is helpful but not a deal breaker.
