[TriLUG] Database Software

I use MS Access heavily at work (it is my only option) and I have developed
some fairly extensive solutions with it. I have found that LibreOffice Base
actually has as much capability, it just takes a little time to figure the
differences. Some of the databases I developed for work, I recreated in
Base at home just to see if it could be done. Base works really well! The
GIMP graphics program is handy for making highly polished buttons etc...
You can make a Base interface look extremely awesome, which may help win
over those doubtful folks who fear stepping outside of the Windows world. I
have not found anything Access does that Base can't do as well or better.
