[TriLUG] Do Linux User groups still serve a useful purpose?

I still find LUGs useful for general ongoing personal knowledge 
enhancement (even if only from the mailing list or from IRC).

And of course, they still serve a useful purpose for jobs notifications to 
people with a common tech interest.
