Almost. There are two versions of that model number- B2 and B3. Might want
to run cpuinfo or similar tool get the part number.

I mention all of this not because I'm convinced it's your problem, but
because your original post did conjure up memories of random lockups, boot
errors, automatic reboots and so forth which were common with some TLB
affected cpus. B2's are bad, bad, news. I tried everything- different RAM,
PSU, motherboard, every BIOS option under the sun... I eventually heaved
them in the trash in favor 6 core Istanbuls.

Looking at the startup sequence.

It says: ( After the AMIBIOS info )

CPU : Quad-Core AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 2356
Speed : 2.30 GHz Count : 8
Node0 DCT0 = 667 MHz, DCT1 = 667 MHz,
Node1 DCT0 = 667 MHz, DCT1 = 667 MHz,

Sun Fire X4140 2 AMD North Bridges, Rev B3

Any of that helpful?

Brian
