Subject: [TriLUG] Which Lightning Talk? - Feedback Request
Just checking to see if there is any interest in one of these topics.
1. A rendition of my BarCamp talk "Organizing Tech Conferences" which
mostly involved engaging the audience for ideas, recruiting potential
volunteers, and potential sponsors etc... Perhaps more focused on TriLUG
meetings and how to improve. A plug may be included about the upcoming
"Open All The Things" conference.
2. LibreOffice Calc and Base. I could hit on some of the most practical
business uses and share some time saving formulas and techniques and touch
on macros and automation. This topic would be the most technical of the 3,
however, it might need to be saved for another day unless I can really
refine it well into a short talk with brief prerecorded demonstrations. I
also have a recorded LibreOffice talk from POSSCON I could review for extra
interesting highlights.
3. Electric Cars and Open Source Cars. I have an all electric car and could
easily talk about the experience. I have also read a lot about open source
cars. I have thought that a hybrid topic would be interesting to enguage
the audience with, to see what ideas would be shared. Perhaps there are
some open source solutions that could address the challenges faced by
electric cars. Mostly what electric cars need now is community awareness
and charging stations added to the transportation infrastructure.
All 3 talks would begin with the topic and turn to open discussion for
ideas from the group.
Please let me know if there is any interest in any of these 3 topics. If so
I will be ready Thursday.
Jeremy
