Hi Igor,

I used a similar fast powerline ethernet adapter for an alcove that we
have upstairs, near the furthest point indoors from our wireless router.
It worked very well for almost a year. At that point the upstairs end
of the pair failed. Unfortunately, the powerline trancievers do not
work well through a surge protector. They are the front line for any
surge that comes through the power line.

I ordered another pair from a different manufacturer that had good
reviews (Phicomm), but unlike the first pair these did not work well at
all. The network connection looked healthy, but throughput varied
between poor and nonexistent. I gave up on those in frustration.

Out of desparation I wound up running 85 feet of cat 6 up the side of
our house and through a few dozen feet of cramped curtain wall. Wired
network to the rescue! I haven't regretted it since. I came very close
when a squirrel got into our attic and bit through the cable, but it was
easier the second time.

Good luck!

   Scott C.
