Conversely, I recently came into possession of a 3 year old MacBook Pro in great condition. The first thing I did was wipe that wretched operating system clean off the hard drive.
It now sports a matte black case skin and a "Powered by Arch Linux" aluminum badge.
Having been an avid OSX86'er for years, even stably running 10.7 on a 12 core AMD ESXi host, I can tell you to waste no more of your time and just move on.
