[TriLUG] how big and where is the GPT

I have a disk that had a GPT and now I want to return it to an MBR disk, by 
writing the image of an MBR disk onto it. When I do this fdisk still detects 
that the disk has a GPT. I've written 4G of zeroes with dd onto the start of the 
disk which I expected would overwrite the GPT.

What do I have to zero out to remove the GPT?
