[TriLUG] Intermittent mouse pointer loss?

Hi all,

If anybody here has the problem that their GUI mouse pointer disappears
when hovering something with popup help, and also disappears after
scrolling up or down with the mouse wheel, and only reappears when the
mouse is moved, please speak up.

Anybody having these symptoms: Are you by any chance using Claws-Mail?

I'm researching this problem and it's starting to get fascinating. I
can reproduce the problem every single time by hovering over a message
in Claws-Mail's message list, and once so reproduced, it happens
everywhere, all the time, until I get out of X and restart.
