I’ve always called it from Amavisd-new. They had issues where the signature server crashed and it took them a very long time to get it back up. What’s weird is that on the two systems I use it on, 1, get’s updates 2-3 times a week, the other never sees updates. I haven’t had time to troubleshoot it. Also finding sites with up to date rules is tough. sought.rules.yelp.org is one site, but they’re not well maintained either. Spamassassin has gone downhill with rulesets in my opinion.
