[TriLUG] Tax Software

I gave them a try this year. Seemed to work just fine for me, but my taxes are pretty simple: W2, some 1099-Div, and the typical property and real estate tax deductions. Filed electronically and returns accepted, fed within 20 mins, state within 2 hours. At $34 out the door including filing and being able to use Linux, I'm pleased.

The only negative I can think of in terms of online tax work is that they have a lot of information that they need to seriously safeguard and I assurances don't mean squat if they get breached. Of course the same thing applies to the big players too.

Guess it's time to file for a credit freeze to be safe(r).
