Every time I drive around Raleigh I'm really pleased not to be near Boston
or NYC. But I do miss the ideas for projects that used to come from
wandering about Radio Shack (167 Washington Street, Boston, IIRC) and
poking through the parts when I was a novice ham (KN1LWT).
If you're stuck in the left lane on 440 and there is an idiot behind you,
"pushing" at you, trying to make you elevate or vanish so he can get by,
you can be certain that he's from Boston.
True Story time: Left lane, 128 around Boston (like 440 here, only with
more surprises), doing about 80. Guy comes up behind me, must have been
doing 110. Pulls into the median strip to pass me. Hooks his left front
tire onto the guard rail, turns over, and passes me while he's upside
down. You just don't see talent like that here.
