After hearing the lightning talk on iperf from Bill to TriLUG back in the day, 
I setup a public iperf server soon after. 

The server is:

This server has seen wide use from all over the world, including large telecom 
companies in Australia, Canada, US, and more who like to measure their 
datagrams. 

The larger providers contact me to ask if it's OK to use for testing which is 
very nice of them.

I am considering setting up a load balanced service at some point soon as 
demand is increasing and at this point it has just been a single Linode $20 
VPS.
