I would suggest on Python.

if someone start learning embedded world, Lua would be a great approach.

Honestly,  I preferfer C/C++, Java, and Python to embrace.

on my understanding,  new programming lang is no popping put every couple
months, this is popping up as an extension :D.

I know Lua is getting embrace by embedded world to  attract new  users:D.
Frankly speaking.... once they know in detail, C/C++ must be embraced with
bash&python scripting languages. Java would be a main role in front-end gui
world and conectivity.
