I guess I should expect to be a target for that sort of ribbing
I started my sysadmin days in the era of 16kbaud modems. This was perfectly fine
for editing files with vi, but if I had to mess with a program that had a gui
and thought you were sitting at the machine's console I knew it would be 20mins
before the graphics instructions would form the gui on my screen at home. As a
result I only use tools that require low bandwdth to the remote machine, and use
utilities whose files can be grep'ed etc. Pine is perfect for the job. From what
I know mutt would be good too, but I already have something that works perfectly
so I'm not going to fix it.
