[TriLUG] Blocking a linux laptop (Mint 17) from connecting to an open wifi ap.

My concern with a technical solution is...
if they have the ability to change the wireless config from the family's
AP to anyone else's, what prevents them (having physical access to the
machine) from disabling any on-laptop controls, including root-owned cron
jobs?
The beauty of my low-tech approach (for all of its obvious disadvantages)
is that you can't easily and unobtrusively disable it.
